|
|
Using a Win95 boot disk with Ghost 7.5 on it, I cloned disk to disk a
3gb Western Digital drive to a 4.3gb WD drive. (w/Master to Slave
settings)
The source drive only contains 500mg of data including OS.
The new drive won't boot after pulling the source drive and setting
the cloned drive as a single drive.
The source drive is Win95 Fat32 with a single active partition.
The destination drive now has a single active partition and is the
exact same size bit for bit.
Things I've tried:
Re-Fdisk destination drive to a single partition and don't format it.
(same result/won't boot)
Re-Fdisk destination drive to a single partition and format it using
Format /U. (same result/won't boot)
Drive contents can be viewed in Explorer but drive won't boot.
Tried drive in another PC as single drive.(same result/won't boot)
Tried 2 other drives: 6gb Western Digital drive and a 1.2gb Western
Digital drive.(same result/won't boot)
Jumpered drive(s) as Cable Select(CS)
Ghosted only used portion of source drive.
Ghosted entire drive including un-used portions of source drive.
I have used this disk to disk method on a Win98 drive and re-used this
drive to clone other drives for use in other PC without a glitch.
This drive won't boot in its home PC.
Any reason why this newly cloned drive(s) won't boot?
Thanks, Rick |
