|
|
I am running Backup-exec for windows server 2003 10d on SBS 2003.
I remotely administer this server and can only go in one a month to
change the tapes.
I need to setup the job or media set to not eject the tape
automatically when it fills up.
Here is what I need exactly
Weekly backup:
Backup server 1 without overwriting server 2's backup data
Backup server 2 without overwriting server 1's backup data
What I need is for the backup jobs to overwrite themselves only, on
the same tape.
if I try to append with overwrite the tape ejects when the tape fills
up leaving me without backups until such time as I can Physically get
to the tape drive to reinsert the tape. |

This can't be done with Backup Exec with only one tape and one tape drive.
You could get a second tape drive, and use one drive for each server backup,
but I can't think of any other easy way round this. |
